Summary: lovely restful day, a chance to be at last with our friends Uri and Galia and daughters
______
Oy. Still hard to get enough time to write. It's late Sunday evening and I haven't even recorded yesterday, much less today. And have barely begun to capture all we're learning about Playback here, which is a whole other project. Had a bunch of timely Bolder Giving work earlier this evening which ate my time.
Enough complaining! Yesterday morning was gorgeous. A zillion happy people were enjoying their Shabbat out on the beach promenade. I was one of them, dancing in a private corner, watching the sun and sea and the passing parade of humanity. We had the brilliant idea of letting Christopher go alone to (Read more plus video of Uri and family.)
lunch with Aviva (one of the key Playback leaders in Israel) and I had a truly blissful three hours alone. Got dressed up, took myself to the cafe, wrote and read. Christopher returned all excited from his meeting -- looks like he and Aviva may work together on writing up a Playback toolkit, capturing some of her vast experience and observations.
Then we had a lovely long visit with Uri Alon and his family. Uri was a member of our True Story Theater group in Boston, and he's a key reason we wanted to come to Israel. We really love him and his wife Galia, not to mention their scrumptious girls Gefen (now about 4) and Tamar (almost 1 year). So the reunion was sweet. We fell right in together. Did some Playback with Uri (while Galia stayed with sleeping girls) and then all went to dinner, joined by Galia's brother. Gefen delighted herself with the squishy toys we brought her from Walgreens, and we all caught up on our last seven months.
